MONDAY FEELING!

 

 

1. ENGAGE

WITH SOMEONE

ON THE COMMUTE

 

 

Okay, so I made you cringe right?  You don’t have to be that person who divulges their life into the ear of the awkwardly sat person opposite.  Just the odd thing will take the edge off your Monday.

 

Power walking through the barriers at Finchley station the other day I was halted by the words of the TfL gate inspector, “Have a good day”, he said. I was in a hurry, no time to loose, train to catch, errands to run, but for a split second I thought …I will, thank you!

 

 

2. A 'GOOGLE DAYDREAM' 

( OTHER TECH COMPANIES ARE AVAILABLE )

 

 

We get stuck in a problem, a never ending task, but sometimes you just can’t see the wood for the trees.

 

Take what some term a Google daydream.  Have your coffee somewhere different.  Take in the scenery.  Let your mind wander. They say you should spend 20% of your time doing this to help clear your head, mull things over and then return to a task.

 

Tech company Atlasssian hit the headlines with their Ship-it Days. 24 hours; a day of company time to work on their own technology project with no limitations or brief. The quarterly day has now inspired 597 new products for Atlasssian.

 

3. GET ACTIVE

  

We all know it to be true.  Get that body moving; pumping the blood round the body; raise that heart rate. It creates mood boosting endorphins.

 

If you’re not sure what to start with, pop along to a class.  Get together with a friend in a competitive activity.  You

might find something you really enjoy.

 

4. WEAR SOMETHING DIFFERENT

 

  

Our clothes affect the way we feel.  We’ve heard the “I’ll just slip into something more comfortable” quote.  I just like to pop me armies on sometimes…

 

Clothes make us powerful, sexy, comfortable, sleazy or ready for action.  Change your dress to change your approach.  Impress with some sharp shoes or be comfortable and confident with your ideas in smart casual.

 

 

5. ADD MUSIC

INTO YOUR DAY

  

I once started playing music during my morning shower.  I now can’t get on if I haven’t been battered by a hot shower to the sound of an upbeat tune.

 

Power ballads to solidify a passion in your soul.  Classical to help focus the mind. Even just a bit of dance music to help bounce you to the station.
